After our visit to the Margilan market, our host in Margilan brought us outside the city with his Mercedes S class and we headed for Uzbekistan's capital city Tashkent with a shared taxi that we boarded outside the city. It was interesting to see that the Fergana valley was still considered a volatile area. There were many road-blocks, special passport controls along the route and many policemen around. Slowly we drove out of the valley and into the more plain landscape towards Tashkent. Tashkent is not the city most worth visiting in Uzbekistan, but we needed to go there anyway to get our visa for Turkmenistan, which was going to be a tremendous challenge...
